Revelstoke Travel Photographer - Lindsay & Crystal's BFF Weekend

When Crystal reached out to me about her weekend getaway with her now long-distance best friend Lindsay, I was immediately very jealous of them. As someone in a perpetual long distance best-friendship that has spanned 8 cities, 5 countries, and 3 continents between us over 10 years, I long to be able to rent a suite in a mountain town halfway in-between for a weekend full of our favourite things. Alas, that is not possible during a pandemic when your best friend is in lock-down in London, so I chose to live vicariously through my clients.

Crystal and Lindsay met years ago in Kamloops in one of those Netflix-ready stories where one of them hated the other because of a now laughable misunderstanding and became inseparable because of it - we’ve all got one of those, don’t we? Crystal recently took a work contract which brought her a few hours southeast of Revy so they met in the middle for a weekend full of mountain walks, waterfalls, good eats, boutique shopping, and of course one another’s company.

*Please note that in accordance with current BC Government recommendations to avoid recreational and social travel within the province, now is not the time to visit Revelstoke.

Our photo session was full of laughter as they recounted stories of adventures - and misadventures - they’ve shared over the years. It reminded me of the importance of having good girlfriends by your side, and made me thankful for my own friendships, near and far. Just before we finished up, I asked the pair to share with each other what they admired in the other and why they were their best friend. It was a sweet moment that I think we often pass up in our daily lives.

Consider your own best friends - when’s the last time you told them why you love them?
